What is a Help to Buy Valuation?
When you buy a property using a Help to Buy equity loan, Homes England requires the property to be independently valued by a RICS Registered Valuer. This valuation confirms the open market value of the property and forms the basis of the equity loan calculation.
It is separate from your mortgage valuation. Your lender arranges their own survey, this one is arranged by you, and must be carried out by an RICS-accredited surveyor. Without it, your equity loan cannot proceed.
